Nurse Maude Palliative Care Hospice

Sheppard & Rout are proud to have partnered with Nurse Maude to develop the design for their new hospice. The new building, located opposite the existing site on Mansfield Avenue in Christchurch, features 13 patient rooms, versatile education spaces, and cozy, private spaces for whanau and friends.

The single storey building is divided by a landscaped courtyard space in the centre of the site. The main structure is comprised of Glulam portal frames, the cladding, a combination of local clay bricks and vertical shiplap timber boards.

Having completed the detailed design phase, the project is currently out for tender, with construction scheduled to commence in early 2025!
