Punangairi has officially opened!

We are thrilled to announce the official opening of Punangairi, a significant milestone in the development of the new Punakaiki Visitors Centre, located just a short distance from the iconic Pancake Rocks. This project has been years in the making and represents a tremendous collaborative effort from a diverse and dedicated team.

Key contributors to the success of Punangairi include the Department of Conservation New Zealand, Ngāti Waewae, our extensive team of consultants, and Naylor Love, who brought this vision to life with their exceptional craftsmanship.

We would like to extend a special thank you to the many members of our office who have played vital roles in the realization of this project, with particular recognition to Steven Orr for his outstanding contribution.
