In the aftermath of the devastating 2011 Christchurch earthquake, Worcester Terraces emerged as a symbol of renewal, aiming to draw residents back into the heart of the city. Situated on a once desolate inner-city site, the development sought to embrace a diverse array of housing options, including townhouses and apartment complexes, comprising a total of 68 residences. The design ethos focused on harmonising the development with the surrounding urban fabric. By integrating a mix of 2 and 3 storey buildings, Worcester Terraces skillfully balanced the lower suburban structures on the east with the taller central city on the west, creating an intermediary blend that seamlessly merged into the cityscape.
